Mako Networks Rolls Out Secure, Reliable, Redundant Network for Icon Parking Locations in NYC

NYC parking leader Icon Parking selected Mako Networks to upgrade and modernize their distributed network design and equipment.

ELGIN, IL, October 19, 2020 – Mako Networks has completed deployment of their secure Mako System networking solution to more than two hundred Icon Parking locations, primarily in the New York metropolitan area, where parking is a hot commodity when traffic volume is high. Under these conditions, it is crucial that each parking garage is secure and available at all times.

Prior to selecting the Mako System, some of the major problems faced by Icon Parking locations included inconsistent security implementation, unreliable network availability, and insufficient redundancy. The Mako System provides solutions to these common problems with the Mako Central Management System (CMS) and high-performance Mako appliances configured with LTE backup.

The Mako CMS is a cloud-based platform for configuration, reporting, and diagnostic tools that allows for uniform configuration templating across the enterprise, including security configurations. The ability to preconfigure customer premise equipment makes deployment operationally painless, as well. Individual parking garages were cutover in minutes, and the entire Icon Parking project was completed in a matter of weeks.
