Managed Switches

Whether you are looking to add remote management capability to a growing network or to consolidate your remote management activity in a single application, Mako managed switches are the easiest and most secure solution.

Managed Switches

Whether you are looking to add remote management capability to a growing network or to consolidate your remote management activity in a single application, Mako managed switches are the easiest and most secure solution.

Mako 1000 Series

Mako 1000 Series managed switches increase port density beyond that of a Mako security gateway while maintaining centralized control, enabling you to build fully managed, secure local networks of any size. The Mako 1008-SW/P 8-port, Mako 1024-SW/P 24-port, and Mako 1048-SW/P 48-port managed switches provide fine-grained port control and offer Gigabit Ethernet (GbE), full VLAN support and Power over Ethernet (PoE) on all ports.

Mako managed switches are typically deployed at a site alongside a Mako security gateway that provides WAN connectivity, VLAN control and next-gen firewall capability. Mako managed switches are part of the Mako System and are fully integrated with the Mako Central Management System (CMS), with the only management interface being via this PCI-certified and highly secure cloud platform. The Mako CMS facilitates enterprise-level control and delivers a premium level of security for users of all types.

Key Features

PORT CONTROL

With Mako managed switches you have control of each switch port directly from the Mako CMS. Enable or disable ports, turn on power over Ethernet (PoE), and select which LANs and VLANs apply to each switch Ethernet port.

CLOUD MANAGEMENT AND MONITORING

Mako security gateways are fully cloud-managed via the Mako CMS, making remote management, monitoring and support simple and straightforward. Using a patented communications protocol, each Mako device connects securely to the Mako CMS over the public Internet. User security features include multi-factor authentication and role-based permissions. Authorized users have 24/7 remote access from anywhere in the world to a complete suite of cloud-based tools for advanced configuration, automated real-time alerts, enterprise reporting and troubleshooting diagnostics, reducing or eliminating the need for on-site maintenance.

SFP PORTS

Small form-factor pluggable (SFP) ports accept a variety of different network interface modules, including Ethernet and fiber-optic interfaces. This brings both added density and maximum flexibility to a Mako VPN concentrator’s WAN/LAN port options. The SFP+ ports on the Mako 7600-S and Mako 8600-S models support speeds up to 10 Gbps.

QUICK AND EASY DEPLOYMENT

Like all Mako devices, Mako managed switches allow for zero-touch deployment by automatically receiving device-specific configuration information from the Mako CMS via the Cloud. Remote sites can get up and running quickly, easily and securely. Mako managed switches are easy to deploy and support at both the site and enterprise levels.

PCI DSS CERTIFIED

Unlike other networking solutions, the entire Mako System, including the Mako CMS and all Mako devices, is end‐to‐end PCI DSS certified, providing peace of mind that your sensitive data is handled properly. Mako’s PCI-certified enterprise templates facilitate bulk security configuration of Mako devices and make it easy to demonstrate compliance when necessary.
