Mako Managed Switches

Extend your network securely

Mako Managed Switches

Mako CMS managed switches enable customers to increase port density beyond the primary Mako appliance while maintaining centralized control. The Mako 1008-SW/P 8-port, Mako 1024-SW/P 24-port, and Mako 1048-SW/P 48-port managed switches allow fine-grained control of networks of any size and offer Gigabit Ethernet (GbE), full VLAN support, and Power over Ethernet (PoE) on all ports. Mako network appliances switches are also fully integrated with the Mako Central Management System (CMS), with the only management interface being via this PCI-certified and highly secure cloud platform, increasing control at the enterprise level and offering a premium level of security for users of all types.

Features of Mako Managed Switches

Port Control

With Mako managed switches you have control of each switch port directly from the Mako CMS. Enable or disable ports, turn on power over Ethernet (PoE), and select which LANs and VLANs apply to each switch Ethernet port.

SFP Ports

Small form-factor pluggable (SFP) ports accept a variety of different network interface modules, including Ethernet and fiber-optic interfaces. This brings both added density and maximum flexibility to a Mako managed switch’s LAN port options. SFP ports on the Mako 1024-SW/P support speeds up to 1 Gbps, while SFP+ ports on the Mako 1048-SW/P support speeds up to 10 Gbps.

PCI DSS Certified

The entire Mako System, including Mako managed switches, is PCI DSS certified from end‐to‐end, providing customers the peace of mind of third-party certified security, rather than just a “best-effort” solution.

Centralized Logging/Reporting

As with all Mako appliances, Mako managed switches can only be managed from the Mako CMS, with no on-box or other local means of managing the appliance, greatly enhancing network security. Using a patented communications protocol, each Mako managed switch connects securely to the Mako CMS. This allows verified, authorized users 24/7 remote access to a complete suite of cloud-based tools for advanced configuration, zero-touch deployment, enterprise reporting, and troubleshooting diagnostics.

Quick And Easy To Deploy

Like all Mako appliances, Mako managed switches allow for zero touch deployment by automatically receiving site-specific configuration information from the Mako CMS via the cloud. Remote sites can get up and running quickly and easily. Mako managed switches are easy to deploy and support at both the site and enterprise levels.
