Driven Technologies Partners with Mako Networks to Deliver Industry-Leading Security Solutions

Security solutions provider Driven Technologies uses the Mako System for customers who need secure end-to-end networking and reporting.

ELGIN, IL, December 11, 2019 – Mako Networks and Driven Technologies have agreed to a supply contract for Mako 7600 VPN concentrators and 6600-M edge appliances to secure Driven Technologies’ redundant data centers and customer locations nationwide. Driven Technologies selected Mako appliances due to their combination of templated security, proven reliability, and superior High Availability (HA) performance. Recent deployments include parking industry disruptor REEF Parking, which gains a technological advantage over older institutions.

Driven Technologies uses the Mako System in its custom security solutions when a customer needs to maximize security, uptime, and speed. Distributed retail customers in particular benefit from the Mako System’s PCI DSS certification, which is extensible to each retailer’s network. A multitude of SD-WAN connectivity options, including dual-SIM LTE cellular, partnered with Mako VPN Cloud technology allow Fast Failover configurations that not only ensure uptime, the response is so fast that not a single packet is lost. This level of performance is critical to systems that demand continuity, including payment processing, VoIP, and security cameras.

“High Availability is an essential feature of our security solutions,” said Michael Pearson,
COO of Driven Technologies. “Mako appliances provide industry-leading network security with performance characteristics that meet our HA requirements. Add that to real-time reporting capabilities that align with our go-to-market model and our decision was easy.”

Simon Gamble, President of Mako Networks, said, “We are excited to be partnering with Driven Technologies. Mako Networks and Driven Technologies are both dedicated to delivering full-service security solutions for our customers through the use of the latest, most efficient, high-performance technology available.”

With a sealed, tamper-proof case, no moving parts, and high heat tolerance, Mako 6600-M edge appliances are suited to tough network environments. Features include 24/7 access to the Mako Central Management System for cloud-based configuration, reporting, and diagnostics; single- or dual-SIM cellular; Fast Failover for HA; four physical network segments, plus VLAN; up to four Wi-Fi networks; a stateful inspection firewall; Mako VPN Cloud SD-WAN tunneling; encrypted IPSec VPN tunneling; content filtering; zero-touch deployment; and WAN connectivity via LTE, Ethernet, fiber, or xDSL at up to 1Gbit transfer speeds.

Mako 7600 and 8600 VPN concentrators deliver even more features in a 1U form factor with additional processing power that allows them to terminate thousands of VPN tunnels. Multiple Mako VPN concentrators at multiple data centers provide load distribution as well as circuit, hardware, and geographic redundancy. These models can also be virtualized using AWS or Google Cloud.
