Mako Networks and Twin Liquors Toast New Deployment Deal

Mako technology brings enhanced security, reliability, and scalability to Twin Liquors’ rapidly expanding network of distributed liquor retail locations and simplifies the PCI compliance process.

ELGIN, IL, March 30, 2021 – Mako Networks partner CBE and Twin Liquors, a family-owned, Austin-based chain of more than 100 liquor retail locations in Texas, have entered an agreement to deploy the Mako System to all Twin Liquors sites. Mako technology brings enhanced security, reliability, and scalability to Twin Liquors’ rapidly expanding network of distributed retail locations and simplifies the PCI DSS compliance process. The first round of installations are completed, and Twin Liquors expects to finish the remainder by the end of Q2.

Each Twin Liquors retail site will receive an identical infrastructure upgrade bundle, including a Mako 6600-M network appliance and a Mako 1024-SW/P 24-port managed switch. Deploying these managed appliances together allows for improved network segmentation at each site. Each Mako 6600-M will be configured for LTE cellular failover to improve uptime. Management functionality is available exclusively via the cloud-based Mako CMS (Central Management System) for maximum security and scalable, zero-touch deployment.

Larger Twin Liquors sites, such as head offices or data centers, utilize high-performance Mako VPN concentrator appliances and are connected securely to all remote sites via encrypted Mako VPN Cloud SD-WAN tunnels for centralized visibility and control of all remote in-store equipment. Mako VPN Cloud technology also provides safe, easy connections between Twin Liquors sites and approved third-party application services.

“We are thrilled to be working with Mako Networks and CBE to bring major enhancements to our network so that we can focus on serving our customers,” said Marlon Osborne, Information Systems Director of Twin Liquors. “Not only does Mako improve our existing network infrastructure and ease network expansion, but also it streamlines our PCI compliance efforts into a very manageable process, freeing resources without sacrificing security.”

“Mako Networks is excited to have Twin Liquors as a customer and to give them a taste of our white-glove service, as we are two companies that share a deep commitment to customer service,” said Simon Gamble, President of Mako Networks. “The Mako System is the best secure networking solution for any distributed retail enterprise, particularly those experiencing rapid growth, and we hope our successful relationship with Twin Liquors will garner attention in the liquor retail market.”
