Mako Managed Network Services Now Offers Optional Breach Protection

Mako Networks has added breach protection to its suite of managed network services to further address risks associated with handling sensitive data.

ELGIN, IL, May 23, 2019 – Eligible merchants enrolled in Mako’s managed network services program now have the option to join the Merchant Cyber Liability Program (MCLP), a group that indemnifies its members’ qualifying costs associated with remediating data breaches, including costs assessed under the rules of PCI DSS or any federal, state, foreign, or local privacy breach notice law.

“Mako’s white-glove service is always improving, with new products and services being offered as we identify our customers’ latest business needs,” said Jason Kubasak, CEO of Mako Networks. “While our goal is always to provide Mako customers with the necessary security tools to prevent data breaches, we know breach protection is a service that can bring added peace of mind in an environment where attacks on data are relentless.”

The MCLP protects merchants for the cost of an actual or suspected violation of a privacy regulation due to a covered security breach that results in the unauthorized release of protected personal information which is any private, non-public information of any kind in the merchants’ care, custody, or control. The coverage territory is worldwide.

Each eligible merchant is protected up to $100,000 per location and $500,000 per merchant. PCI DSS Level 2, 3 and 4 merchant accounts are eligible, regardless of whether they were thought to be PCI DSS compliant at the time of the breach. Covered expenses include crisis management, PCI and GDPR regulatory action, forensic audits, loss mitigation, card replacement costs, and PCI re-certification services.
