Mako Attains Elite Listing As Level One PCI DSS Provider With Visa Europe

Mako has announced its listing with Visa Europe as a registered merchant agent. Mako joins an elite list of 45 vendors accredited for use by Visa merchants that pass stringent standards to provide merchant payment security.

The Visa listing is designed to provide a pool of pre-approved technology and payment processing vendors that have passed Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliance certification as a Visa level 1 service provider.

The list from Visa reduces the complexity in achieving PCI DSS compliance and payment security for merchants by identifying and listing vendors that have committed to meeting the industry best practice security standards.

With effect from 31 December 2012, Visa Europe acquiring members must ensure that their merchants use only merchant agents that are registered by Visa Europe and listed on www.visamerchantagentslist.com. This will have an increasing impact on any agent who has not yet registered through the website.

Mako’s inclusion in the listing for Europe comes after its third consecutive year of PCI DSS certification. Mako Networks was the first network management company in the world to achieve PCI DSS compliance in 2010, and continues its leadership today with complement of hardware and services that assist merchants of all sizes to secure their network and enhance payment security.

Mako Networks Commercial Manager for Europe, Chris Nation, says: “Inclusion on Visa’s approved merchant agent listing places our system as among the world’s best in protecting payment card data. Visa is a global leader in payments security, and their accreditation offers us validation across many sectors.”

Bill Farmer, CEO of Mako Networks, agrees: “Merchants using the Mako System can be assured they’re in safe hands. After passing every audit to meet Level One PCI DSS standards, listing from Visa Europe is a validation for us of the integrity of our system. As Visa merchant agents examine their network security and compliance status, Mako will continue to stand by our solution, ready to assist.”
